Workshop - Color Theory | All Levels Class

Date and Time: Mon Apr 3, 6:30p-8:30p

An in-store introduction to color theory concepts and terminology (hue, temperature, value, saturation, high/low key, admixture, anomaly, etc.). We will practice visually analyzing and articulating what "works" color-wise, what doesn't, and why.

This interactive lecture/workshop will confer an understanding of color systems or "harmonies," and culminate in the selection of a group of fabrics for a quilt or other multi-color project.

This class will be taught by artist, Lydia Neuman ( A graduate of UT Austin (MS, Textiles), and Rhode Island School of Design (BFA, Printmaking), Lydia has two decades of experience designing textiles and interiors, and teaching and writing about color. Designed to accommodate 4-6 students.

Prerequisites: None!

Please bring a not-too-large, portable object (a quilt, sweater, vase, etc.), or a photograph (of an object, an interior, a landscape, etc.) that exhibits "great color" -- e.g., something you love for its color characteristics.
